Expand knowledge of materials and styles of painting. Learn new brush and palette knife techniques and experiment with glazing, collage and arbitrary color to establish a "mood" in a painting. Concentrate on scale and compositional elements. Learn how to stretch and prime a canvas.

Concentration on light and shadow, fore-shortening, placing a figure or subject in space. Revisit gesture and contour drawing as a means of loosening up. Figurative drawing encouraged, mannequin provided. Charcoal, colored pencil, pastels and colored papers are all welcome.
