Beginning Drawing for Adults

Mon-Fri, Jan. 14-18   10a.m.-12p.m.
Cost $120
Introduction to materials and styles of drawing, basic principals of composition and proportion, line and texture. Explore different ways to capture subject through gesture, linear and contour drawing. Subject matter is your choice.

Advanced Acrylic for Adults

Mon - Fri, Feb. 11-15   10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Cost $120
Expand knowledge of materials and styles of painting. Learn new brush and palette knife techniques and experiment with glazing, collage and arbitrary color to establish a "mood" in a painting. Concentrate on scale and compositional elements. Learn how to stretch and prime a canvas.

Beginning Acrylic

Mon - Fri, Feb. 11-15   10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Cost $120
Explore the many advantages of acrylic paint and become familiar with color mixing, brushes and paint application techniques (masking, tinting). Discover your own personal style through experimentation. Subject matter is your choice.

Drawing all Levels

Mon - Thu, Feb. 25-28   6 p.m.- 8:30p.m.
Cost $120
Concentration on light and shadow, fore-shortening, placing a figure or subject in space. Revisit gesture and contour drawing as a means of loosening up. Figurative drawing encouraged, mannequin provided. Charcoal, colored pencil, pastels and colored papers are all welcome.

Beginning Oils

Mon - Fri, Mar 10-14   10a.m. - 12p.m
Cost $120

Explore characteristics of oil paint and learn color mixing and brush techniques. Research Old Masters or contemporary painters and identify styles you find appealing. Experiment with different painting techniques (expressionistic, impressionistic, realistic). Subject matter is your choice. Please note: this is not a portraiture class.
